In-house training for Tower Transit engineers

21st Century Technology has provided training to Tower Transit for the company’s in-house engineers. It was specifically designed to allow Tower Transit engineers to maintain their company’s on-board 21st Century CCTV systems, and to also keep up to date with technological developments. The training was designed and delivered by 21st Century Technology’s own in-house engineers, following a period of consultation to ascertain the current Tower Transit engineers’ skills.

An interactive session was designed around Tower Transit’s currently installed product range, including digital video recorders, software and cameras. 21st Century replicated the CCTV system at the Croydon-based testing room and a series of deliberate faults were set up for the engineers to identify, investigate and repair.

Alan Coney, Engineering Director of Tower Transit says:

“21st Century provided our engineers with an interactive training at their premises in Croydon. The quality was excellent and we are grateful of the time spent dealing with our needs.”

Training the client’s engineers is an important and growing part of 21st Century’s portfolio. Andrew Prince, Divisional Director for the UK & Ireland Bus Operation, explains:

“Relationships with our client do not end after the installation of the equipment. It is crucial that the technical and diagnostic knowledge of the products and systems is kept up-to-date. In this case the customer wanted their own engineers to undertake the maintenance of their systems. Mobile technology is constantly changing so we offer extensive training courses to enable our customer base to remain conversant with the latest technology.”

21st Century is the preferred supplier to Tower Transit following the company’s transition from FirstGroup in 2013. After the successful training session Tower Transit has asked the company to propose a full maintenance package for their entire on-board CCTV equipment.
