21st Century, the specialist provider of tailored solutions to the passenger transport community, has supplied on-board CCTV and related IT technologies to Arriva UK Bus, along with maintenance and support, since 2002.

The latest contract extension to the existing Framework Agreement with Arriva Bus UK was awarded in advance of the renegotiation date due to the high levels of performance and reliability that 21st Century has provided to its fleet of almost 6,000 vehicles.

The safety critical CCTV systems provided by 21st Century assist Arriva in protecting passengers, drivers and members of the public. 21track, an online customer service portal, allows customers to log any issues, with the office-based service team co-ordinating a nationwide network of engineering teams, who work overnight in Arriva depots across the UK.

Ian Tarran, Regional Engineering Director for Arriva UK Bus, commented: “I am very pleased to say that our longstanding relationship with 21st Century is to continue, as we have renewed our supply contract once again.

“We are looking forward to benefiting from advances in CCTV and other connected on-board systems that they are able to offer.”

Russ Singleton, 21st Century’s Chief Executive Officer, added: “We are delighted that Arriva UK Bus has chosen 21st Century to continue to supply and support their important on-board CCTV and associated IT systems by extending this important Framework Agreement.

“We will continue to invest in the development of innovative technologies and back-office processes, as part of our drive to continuously improve system reliability and performance, at the same time as reduce whole life-cycle costs for all our customers”.

Connected systems, for connected journeys.
