Senior management

Dr. Houghton graduated from Sheffield University’s Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 1982, before gaining his PhD in high-performance processor architectures and image processing. Dr. Houghton then went on to teach, joining the University’s Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering as a Lecturer, and taught Electronics and Software.

In 1998, Dr. Houghton joined Quadrant Video Systems as an Electronic Design Engineer and Firmware Developer, where he progressed his career through the position of Lead Hardware Engineer, on to become Hardware Technical Director in 2012.

Dr. Houghton joined Journeo™ as chief Technical Officer in 2016, to apply his knowledge and expertise across the group.

Mark has over 20 years’ experience working within technology companies, the past seven of which have been focused within the transportation sector. He has held positions within service delivery, IT and product development. Mark has a history of supporting key UK and European customers to deliver on-board technology and back-office management systems. This work on complex technical projects has enabled Journeo™ to expand into Scandinavia and establish long-term framework agreements.

Darren joined Journeo™ in 2005 following university and a year working in public service for the Home Office and now benefits from over 10 years’ experience in the transport technology sector. Darren began his career at Journeo™ in the planning department and made significant contributions to the efficient management of stock and engineer resources. He then moved into IT, overseeing an internal roll-out of handheld devices for engineers that interfaced with the back office system.

In 2018, Darren took on management of the Software Development team, supporting existing products and developing the Group's future software platforms, working closely with customers and the sales team to deliver new products.  In addition, Darren is also responsible for the Group's marketing activities, organising trade shows, customer days and events.

Kim joined Journeo™ in May 2017 and is responsible for identifying, coordinating and managing all necessary resource availability and allocation for the smooth and efficient execution of projects.

With a history in Local Authority and transport projects, Kim has delivered many large and complex projects, including the National Transport Award-nominated "Weston iPoint", the first information and ticketing system of it's kind in the UK.  

Steve has a solid track record of managing large, multi-disciplined teams within automotive technology firms, previously holding the role of Operations Director for Advanced Electronics and Logistics Ltd.

Since joining Journeo™ in 2017, Steve has been responsible for the day-to-day management of Journeo™ stock and logistics, in addition to overseeing the Support Team and Engineering teams.

Phil received a degree in Mathematics from the University of Leeds in 1991 before going on to become a Chartered Management Accountant.  He has over 10 years' experience as a finance director and controller within SMEs and has worked in both AIM listed and private companies, building much of his experience in manufacturing environments.
